Women's Christian Temperance Union (Red Deer, Alta.)

The Dominion Women's Christian Temperance Union was incorporated in 1894 (and its name changed to the Canadian Women's Christian Temperance Union in 1925). The mandate of the organization was to encourage abstinence from drink and narcotics. In 1912 the Alberta Provincial Women's Christian Temperance Union was created. The province was divided into three districts, each of which held about 15 local unions. By 1916, the Red Deer Local Union of the Alberta Provincial Women's Christian Temperance Union had been active in the community for at least a decade. In 1999, the Red Deer Local Union, one of only four remaining unions in the province, disbanded for lack of membership

Willowdale School District No. 303

Willowdale School District No. 303 was established in 1894 at SW-22-27-26-W4. In 1904 the school building burned to the ground and the replacement school was shifted to NW-16-37-26-W4 in 1904. Administrative responsibilities for the school were assumed by Red Deer School Division No. 35 in 1938. The school closed in 1953. Whyte Motors Ltd. was established in Red Deer, Alberta in 1926 and was incorporated in 1928. It operated a Ford Motors franchise at Gaetz Avenue and 49 Street. The founder and principal shareholder was Reginald M. Whyte, 1895-1952; following his death, his widow Lillian became the major owner. The firm was liquidated in 1959

Waskasoo Museum Foundation

The Waskasoo Museum Foundation was founded with the purpose to accept financial gifts and bequests and to be a source of extraordinary financial assistance to the Red Deer Museum. The Foundation supported research activities, provided bursaries for students, and assisted with the cost of special events. The Foundation also evaluated requests for money from the Red Deer Heritage Fund. The funding to start the Foundation came from $50,000 in excess funds from the campaign to build the Museum building. It also
acquired funding from grants and donations. The Foundation had up to 9 Directors serving 3 year terms. There was no general membership.

Waskasoo Environmental Education Society

The Waskasoo Environmental Education Society was founded as a registered non-profit charity on January 1, 2008. It provides the programming and administrative oversight for The Kerry Wood Nature Centre, Fort Normandeau, and the Waskasoo Park Interpretive Program in Red Deer, Alberta. It is partially funded by the City of Red Deer and through fundraising efforts.

University of Alberta Alumni Association. Red Deer Branch

The University of Alberta Alumni Association has existed since 1915. Those alumni from the University of Alberta living in the Red Deer region had joined together by 1966 to create a branch of the Alumni Association. The Red Deer branch had by 1970 merged with the Central Alberta branch, which was centered on Lacombe, and remained the Red Deer branch. The branch was active in fund raising for the development of the library at Red Deer College through the annual Bookworm Ball

United Farmers of Alberta. Penhold Local No. 13

The United Farmers of Alberta was established by the merger of the Society of Equity and the Alberta Farmers Association at a joint conference in Edmonton, Alberta, in January 1909. It acted as a lobby group to press for improvements in government services offered to the farmers of Alberta. The organization became a political movement in 1919 and became the provincial government for the period 1921-1935. It ceased to be a political party in 1939; and in 1949 merged with the Alberta Farmers' Union to create the Farmers' Union of Alberta. The United Farmers of Alberta, Penhold Local No. 13 developed from the Penhold Branch of the Alberta Farmers Association, which had been established in 1907. In 1912 the name of the local organization was changed to United Farmers of Alberta, Penhold Local No. 13. Known presidents of the local were: Arthur Hives (1907-1908), E. Carswell (1909), J. P. Parcels (1910, 1912), S. Pye (1911), Mr. Smith (1918), J. E. C. Oldford (1919-1920), Ronald Pye (1921-1924)
