The Quorn Ranch Company Ltd., an English syndicate, was formed in 1886. The company acquired land on the Sheep River west of Okotoks, Alberta and brought horses from Britain with the intention of breeding hunters for an English market. In the 1890s a herd of Polled Angus cattle was acquired. The ranch was not a financial success. It survived until ca. 1906 when it was broken up. For further information see Sheilagh S.
