D'Arcy Edward Strickland was an inspector in the North West Mounted Police (NWMP) force. From 1893 to 1900 he spent time in the Yukon, at Fort Cudahy, Fort Constantine, Forty Mile and Tagish Post. He was married to Marie Louise Tannis. They had two children, Roland D'Arcy born ca. 1896 and Frances Mary, born December 5, 1899 at Tagish Post. D'Arcy Edward Strickland died in 1908. His son, Roland was killed during World War I (1914-1918).

Donald Taylor came to the Yukon in 1940. He was elected for 6 consecutive terms as MLA for Watson Lake (ca. 1959-1974) and served as Speaker of the House in the Yukon Legislature for 11 of these years. Don has been a member of the Watson Lake Lions Club and the Yukon Shrine Club, and has served as Director for the Yukon Chamber of Mines. He lives at Stewart Lake, just north of Watson Lake.
