The Alexo Coal Company Ltd. was established by E.F. Pullen in 1920 to develop coal deposits west of Red Deer, Alberta. The company's head office was in Toronto and the financing came from investors engaged in metal mining in northern Ontario. The peak production years were the late 1920s and after 1945. The mine closed in 1955.
