Biografie

Alice Fortier was born Janet Ann Davis to a single mother and given up for adoption. She was adopted by Ada and Harold Bennett, a couple from Peoria, where she grew up. Alice attended college in Vermilion, enjoying instruction in Home Economics. In September 1951 she eloped. She and her husband had six children, but the marriage did not last. She was remarried to Joe Renner and had another son, but this marriage also ended in divorce. Finally, she married George Fortier, but he died playing ball 10 months after they were married. After several years of searching for her birth mother, Marcia Davis, the two were reunited in 1992.
