Notice biographique
Anita Blimkie was born in Grande Prairie in April, 1927. Her parents were Lawrence Blimkie and Matilda (Frank) Blimkie. Her grandparents were Gustav Blimkie and Annie Hanniman. Her education included grade twelve and university training and business college. She taught school for a time and also worked in the $5 -$1.00 Store in 1959-1962; the Northern Alberta Dairy Pool in 1962-1963 and then for the J.H. Bennion's accounting firm until 1993. She died in 2011.

The records were donated to the South Peace Regional Archives by Anita's brother and sister-in-law, Ivan and Evelyn Blimkie, in 2011.
Portée et contenu
The fonds consists of six lined school scribblers containing Anita's itemized expenses for each month from December 1958 to January 1964. They include such expenses as rent, clothing, charities, and food. Each entry is itemized, e.g. tomatoes, .30; 2 yds Organdie, 1.58; Sunday collection, 2.00; 1 bottle "222" tablets, 1.25; present for Mr. McBryan, 1.66; etc. At the back of each scribbler is a list of the cheques Anita received for working, first from the the Alberta 5 to $1.00 Store, then the Northern Alberta Dairy Pool.
