Biographical history
Arthur (Art) was born in Marwayne, AB, the eldest of five children. He became a teacher. In 1962 he married Aggie, who was also a teacher. They moved to Athabasca in 1968 where they taught and raised their four children. Art worked as an Alberta Social Studies Curriculum Consultant for several years. He played guitar in several dance bands and is currently involved in the Alberta Society of Fiddlers.

The fonds consists of Vol.2, No.1, March 1966: Alberta Folklore and Local History Collection; A Project Study of Athabasca and District for a Planned Heavy Water Plant, 1966; Grade 3-6 teaching guides for Our Place in the Province; and library book #176 which is a 1970 U of A MA thesis: The Process of Rural Settlement in the Athabasca Area, Alberta by Donald Norman George Stone. The CD was recorded in 1979 by the band "The Gemtones," which included Nadine Kiselyk, Art Thomson, Frank Bubel, Duane Workman, and Moe Breckenridge.

Biographical information was taken from Colinton & Districts, Yesterday & Today, Vol.11. The grade 3-6 student reference books for Our Place in the Province are library books #63-66. The student books and the teaching guides were written by Arthur Thomson. Record No. 06.42;09.37 (Library books #177-180), 15.03. Art passed away in October, 2016.
