Biographical history
The English-German Bilingual Program began in the fall of 1978 as an experimental program in response to provide German as a second language in the Edmonton school system. The program proved successful and Edmonton Public School Board now offers a bilingual program from kindergarten to Grade 12. The Association for English - German Bilingual Education of Edmonton (AEGBEE) operates to support the Program. The Association raises additional monetary support for the program through a casino night held every other year. Over 600 students attend the program.
