Biographical history

Born in Illinois in 1897 to Adolph and Minnie (Bremer) Deichmann, August G. Deichmann received his education at Concordia College in Springfield, Illinois until 1916. He then attended Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri from which he graduated in 1922. He was called to Mellowdale, Alberta in 1922 to where he took his new bride Caroline Hammel. It appears that some of Pastor Deichmann's family had resided in Josephsburg, Northwest Territories around 1900. There were several other preaching stations to which he traveled by horse and wagon until 1924 when he bought an automobile. In 1927 he was called to Illinois where he served two congregations until his retirement in 1965. Much of his work involved ministry to young people.
