Biographical history
Bellerose Roman Catholic Public School District Number (No.) 6 was created by proclamation of Lieutenant Governor Edgar Dewdney on May 5, 1885. The school was located near Namao, Alberta at Township 54, Range 24, West of the 4th Meridian (54-24-W4). On March 12, 1930 the name of the school was changed to Bellerose School District No. 25. It is not known when the school was closed, but ministerial approval was given for transfer of the school lands to two St. Albert School Districts in 1974.
Custodial history
Mrs. Olive Harrold deposited these records in the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1977. Her father in law, John Harrold Junior (Jr.), was a treasurer of Bellerose School District No. 25.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of copied records dating 1893-1936 and includes minutes and financial records.
