Administrative history

The Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, an international social, cultural and service organization for women, was originally founded by Walter W. Ross in 1931 in Abiline, Texas. A non-academic, non-political and non-sectarian organization, its keynote is friendship. Membership in the organization is by invitation. Local chapters, named the Zeta and Epsilon Chapters, were founded in 1945 and 1946. Each sorority chapter conducts projects throughout the year, the proceeds going towards support of various community services.
