Bill began his teaching career in 1963 in Mayerthorpe, AB then moved to Grande Prairie in 1966 to teach Physical Education and Social Studies at Montrose Junior High.

Custodial history

Arrangement
Arrangement: Most of the material was arranged and titled by the donor. Any loose items were arranged according to Turnbull's original arrangement by the archivist. Many of the photographs were individually identified by Turnbull. Due to the large number of available photographs and the multiple repetition of individuals appearing over the years, the collection was thinned out by consulting the lists to include all individuals at least once over the course of several years, privileging group photographs, starting and finish lines, volunteers and officials, and accompanying activities.
