Charles Stewart (Buster) Bissell is one of seven children born to Charles M. Bissell and his wife Anna Isabelle Stewart. The family moved to Athabasca in 1922 where Charles M. was engaged in the logging and sawmill business. Charles S. Bissell, in partnership with Don Logan, bought Landing Motors Garage in 1953 from Rayner Whiteley.
