History

The Blackfalds Park Association was formed in 1907 to gain subscriptions for the purchase of land to create a park and sports field in the Village of Blackfalds, Alberta. In 1909 the Association gave its land holdings to Joseph Capron in return for his covering its debts. The Association then dissolved. Mr. Capron in turn sold the land to the village. Principal officers of the Blackfalds Parks Association were: G. Leopold Gregson, President (1907-1909), and James McNicol, Secretary-Treasurer (1907-1909)
