Biographical history
In 1994, Wainwright School Division No. 32, Provost School Division No.33 and the area administered for school purposed by the County of Vermilion No. 24 dissolved and Buffalo Trail Regional Division formed and assumed responsibility for the schools of the dissolved Wainwright School Division No. 32. Approximately 4500 students, from Kindergarten to Grade 12, attend Buffalo Trail Public Schools. The division covers approximately 14,250 square kilometers in East-Central Alberta and employs approximately 281 full-time teachers and 350 support staff. Twenty nine schools, including seven Hutterite Colony Schools, two Outreach sites, one distance learning site and 19 other schools serving students, in varying grade combinations, from ECS-Grade 12 comprise the division. Nine trustees, representing a ward in the division, serve Buffalo Trail Public Schools.
Custodial history
In 1997, Buffalo Trail Regional Division No. 28 donated the material to the Provincial Archives of Alberta. In 2005, Larry Kobitzsch donated the material comprising PR2005.0115. Larry Kobitzsch's father served as Secretary-Treasurer for the school and retained the records until his death.
