Biographical history

Arthur C. Bunney (1852- 1935) came to Alberta from the United States in 1902. He filed on land near Vermillion, left two sons (Ivo and Ilo) to take care of the claim and went back to the US for the rest of his family, two more sons and a daughter, Ben (killed in the First World War), Mae (Astle). They returned in 1905 but then filed on land near Battle Lake, west of Wetaskiwin. There he farmed with his wife Ida (1884- 1945) until they moved to Wetaskiwin in 1918. Son Ivo farmed and worked in the lumber industry.

Fonds consists of these series: 1. Occupational (1900-1950) Series consists of photographs of farming, road building and lumbering in the early 1900's and in the 1950's. 2, Personal (1869-1950) Consists of photographs, letters, telegrams and other information relating to Ben Bunney; family papers relating to Mae Bunney; I.O.O.F. certificate for A.C. Bunney (1869).
