In September 1982, there was a re-organization of Board committees. At that time, the terms of reference for the Executive Committee, the Business and Finance Committee and the Personnel Relations Committee were rescinded, and new terms of reference were approved for the Executive Committee, the Finance Committee, the Business and Building Committee, and the Compensation Committee. The terms of reference for the Business and Building Committee were: a) Reviews and makes recommendations concerning capital development programs, space allocation, long-term leases, standards and procedures for design and construction, physical assets of the university, business policies and procedures which require Board approval, campus safety, and contracts greater than $500,000; and b) Oversees the activity of the Committee on Art for Public Spaces. Another re-organization of Board committees took place in December 1986. At that time, the Finance Committee and the Business and Building Committee were discharged, and the Planning and Budget Committee and the Operations and Finance Committee were created. The newly created Planning and Budget Committee assumed the duties of the Business and Building Committee at that time.
