Biographical history

Chemist, Administrator, 1932- . Byron Kratochvil joined the Department of Chemistry in 1967 and was appointed Chair in 1989. A researcher in chemical analysis, he co-wrote three texts on analytical chemistry with Walter E. Harris. He was named Chair of the University of Alberta SLOWPOKE Reactor Facility Committee in 1989. In 1990 he won the Fisher Award for Analytical Chemistry.

Fonds consists of this series: Textbooks (1967-1981). Includes art work, drafts, galley proofs, and teachers' manuals for chemistry texts, one of which, co-authored with Walter E. Harris, was the first book typeset on the University's computer (1981).
