Biographical history

The Calgary After 88 Society was founded in April 1989 by Jim Horsfield and Steve Gogo. They had worked as volunteers for the XV Olympic Winter Games, and wanted to continue in the same spirit. The Society was "a social club dedicated to Olympic spirit & volunteerism", in the words of its letterhead stationery. In addition to organizing social activities, it provided volunteers to support a number of sports events in the Calgary area.
