History
The Calgary Olympic Bid Committee 2002 was formed in 1991 with the objective of promoting a bid for Calgary to host the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. The bid was supported by the City of Calgary and by the Province of Alberta, but failed on December 5, 1992, when the Canadian Olympic Association chose Quebec City as its candidate for the 2002 Games.
