Benjamin Serby Cameron, 1885-1969, was born in Chatham, Ontario, and moved to Lacombe, Alberta in 1910 to establish a photography business which he operated into the 1960s. By the 1950s the business was called Advance Studio, and it offered portrait and commercial photography, camera supplies and photofinishing. Benjamin served on the Lacombe town council for twenty-five years, served on the hospital board, and was involved in the planning and construction of the First Baptist Church in 1950. He and his first wife, who died in 1956, had three children. He later married Eleanor Grace ?.
