Historique
1390 Red Deer Legion Army Cadet Corps has roots going back to 1908. In that year the Militia authorized the creation of 189 Red Deer Cadet Company. The company, originally led by Dr. Henry George, eventually became 292 The Red Deer Cadet Corps. In 1946, the unit was reorganized as 1390 Red Deer Army (R.C.A.) Cadet Corps and affiliated with the 78th Field Battery of 20th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery. In 1976, the Royal Canadian Legion Red Deer Branch No. 35 took over sponsorship of the cadet unit and its name then became 1390 Red Deer Legion Army Cadet Corps. In 1989, under the leadership of its commanding officer, Captain A. M. Gallant, the unit undertook a history project, which culminated in the published book, Pride : the history of 1390 RCACC / edited by Harold Lowe. -- Red Deer, Alta. : 1390 Red Deer Legion Army Cadet Corps, 1990.
