Biographical history

The Canadian Credit Institute was formed in Winnipeg in 1927 by members of the Canadian Credit Men's Association for the purpose of running courses through university extension departments. The course soon became a three year correspondence course through the University of Toronto, with supplementary lectures to be held by chapters of the Institute. A Chapter was founded in Calgary, Alberta in 1937. Members of the Institute are professional credit managers. The Institute promotes the field of credit management and high professional standards among its members. It emphasizes the now four year credit management course and continuing education for anyone engaged in the field.
