The Carmangay West Mutual Telephone Company was incorporated under <em>The Companies Act</em> on January 29, 1935 and served the area around Carmangay, Alberta. Specifically, it included Townships 12 and 13, Ranges 23, 24, and 25, West of the 4th Meridian (12,13-23,24,25-W4). Alberta Government Telephones (AGT) assumed provision of communication services in the area on May 20, 1974, though the Carmangay West Mutual Telephone Company was not officially dissolved by shareholders until November of that year.
