History

The Mountain View Women's Institute was founded at Cayley, Alberta in 1945. In 1946 its name was changed to Cayley Women's Institute. It was a chapter of the Alberta Women's Institute, sponsored by the Alberta Department of Agriculture, to support the fellowship of rural women and the improvement of the social infrastructure of rural communities. Iris Keller was involved in the leadership of the Cayley Women's Institute through most of its existence. It became inactive in 1980.
