Biographical history

Cecil James Speirs, ca. 1925-1996, was born near Shaunavon, Saskatchewan and attended the Ontario Veterinary College at Guelph, Ontario. He began practicing as a veterinarian in Eckville, Alberta in 1951, moving to Red Deer in 1963. In the 1979 and 1980 federal elections he ran as a Social Credit candidate, only garnering a few per cent of the vote. He and his wife Betty had two sons, Dale and Neil.
