Name of creator
Christina Anne Bethune, 1868-1929, was born in Nairn, Scotland. In 1880 she emigrated with her family to the Falkland Islands, where she married John Thomson Macdonald Ritchie. They had three children who survived infancy: Jennie (Mrs. S.M. Patterson), John "Jack", and Dora Curtiss (Mrs. Robert C. Sparks). The family moved to Canada in 1898, settling in Calgary. In 1904, Christina, widowed, filed for a homestead near Frank Lake, just west of Blackie, Alberta, and in 1905 she moved onto it with her children. She died in High River.
