The Citizens' Rehabilitation Committee for Red Deer was set up in early 1945 to help the various levels of government assist demobilized members of the armed forces and their dependents adjust to civilian life in Red Deer. It consisted of the mayor of Red Deer as well as representatives from over 20 local service clubs, Women's Institutes, and women's auxiliaries. It had four sub-committees: Welcome Committee, Information Committee, Housing and Living Quarters Committee, and Records Committee. Harold Snell was its chairman throughout
