History

Claresholm School District No. 764 was formed on November 29, 1902 in the town of Claresholm, Alberta. The first board consisted of Thomas Haig, O.J. Amundsen, James McKinney, and A.E. Wylie. In 1945 the school district joined the Macleod School Division, with the hope of having a new high school built to alleviate overcrowding. A new high school was opened in 1950. In 1969 a composite high school was opened, accommodating students from Fort Macleod to Nanton.
