Biographical history

Coal Lake School District No. 711, located northeast of the village of Millet, was apparently organized in 1902, but Coal Lake School was not established until 1910. Under the provisions of the Department of Education of Alberta, it was authorized to collect property taxes in order to support the operation of the rural school. In 1938, when the school system of Alberta was reorganized, it was absorbed into the Clover Bar School Division No. 13. The school closed in the mid-1940s.

Custodial history

The fonds was donated by Brian Arndt, whose family were residents of the Coal Lake School District.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of the Assessment and Tax Roll of Coal Lake School District No. 711, for the year 1922.
