In September 1982, there was a re-organization of Board committees. At that time, the current terms of reference for the Personnel Relations Committee were rescinded, and new terms of reference were approved for the Compensation Committee. The terms of reference for the Compensation Committee were: a) Reviews and makes recommendations concerning policies governing the employment of all University staff and the graduate assistantship schedule; b) Recommends to the Board on the matter of appointment of an arbitrator and/or arbitration panel; and c) Maintains a watching brief on provincial and federal legislation related to labour matters and advises the Board as requested. In March 1983, the name of the Compensation Committee was changed to the Personnel Policy Committee.
