Biographical history

The Concordia Lutheran Seminary Guild was formed in 1985 to support student life at Concordia Lutheran Seminary in Edmonton. Membership was opened to members of all congregations in the four Western Provinces of Lutheran Church-Canada. As many of those attending the Seminary are second career students and have families, the main project of the Guild is to replenish a food cupboard and provide extras for the children. Congregational groups were encouraged to 'adopt-a-student' and offer support through prayer and friendship. Biannual general meetings were held to encourage support for the guild and its projects.

Custodial history

This material was donated by Norma Schwermann and Cliff Raby (both chairs of the Guild), Mildred Schwermann, Muriel Threinen and through the Concordia Lutheran Seminary Administrative office.
