Biographical history
The Concordia Seminary Wives group started early in the history of Edmonton's Concordia Lutheran Seminary to provide support to the wives of the students and their families. Programs were provided to meet social needs and as an outlet for discussing women's issues concerning their husbands' and congregation's expectations. The activities organized included Bible studies and speakers, potluck dinners, movie nights and full retreats. Muriel Threinen, the wife of the Dean of Students at that time, initially organized the Seminary Wives and held the position of convener or facilitator in the 1980s.
