Biographical history
The County of Red Deer School Division No. 23 was established 1 January 1963. The division came about through a consolidation of Red Deer School Division No. 35 with several other school districts. School Division No. 35 itself, was the result of an amalgamation of numerous small rural school boards in central Alberta in 1939. In 1994, the County of Red Deer and the County of Mountain View school divisions were combined, and a new entity, the Chinook's Edge Regional Division No. 5 was established.
