Biografie

Campion John Goodwin Dawson, 1870-1947, was born in Hitchen, Hertfordshire, England, and was educated in a boarding school. He emigrated to western Canada in 1887 and worked at various jobs, finally acquiring a quarter-section of land near Mountain View, Alberta, and establishing a ranch in 1893. In 1906 he married Lillian Vrooman Perry, 1878-1970, a member of a Mormon family originally from Ontario. They had two children who survived infancy, Campion John Jr. and Margaret Florence (Johnson). The Dawsons were neighbours of English remittance man Richard C. "Dicky" Bright.
