Administrative history

The DeBolt Beautification Society formed in 1997 to enhance and beautify the Hamlet of DeBolt. The variety of tasks the committee took on was to clean up the DeBolt Creek Banks, vacant lots, planting trees, prepare flower beds and hanging baskets, create hiking trails, create a park with playground equipment and apply for funding. The society created the Winnie Moore Park which opened on July 21, 2000. The DeBolt Beautification Society was a member of Communities in Bloom earning the town three Blooms. The society received funding from grants as well as an annual garage sale and raffles. In 2008 the Society dissolved having met most of their goals.

The records were donated by Fran Moore on behalf of the Society in May 2012

Scope and content

The fonds consists of records relating to the operation and activities of the DeBolt Beautification Society. The records include incorporation documents, annual reports, minutes, membership lists, grant records, tax records, two ledgers, financial records, correspondence, newsletters and events.
The records have been arranged by the Archivists by content and chronology into the various series. The Archivists imposed an over-all order while maintaining, as much as possible, the original order.
The records are divided into four series: Administrative Records, Financial Records, Correspondence, and Programs and Events.
