History

The Dinton Women's Institute was founded March 22, 1916 in the rural area known as Dinton, Alberta, located east of Okotoks, and was part of the Calgary-Okotoks Constituency of the Alberta Women's Institute. The objectives of the Dinton Women's Institute was to help rural women acquire home management and leadership skills, strengthen communities through active involvement, and build mutually beneficial social networks. The Dinton Women's Institute dissolved in 2001.
