Robert (Bob) Doran (b.1901) was born in Maryville Missouri, U.S. A. Marie Delphine Unland (b.1901) was born in Wilbur, Nebraska, U.S.A. Bob and Marie met in grade one in the area west of Ponoka, south of Pigeon Lake. Marie and Bob were married in 1925 and moved to Jasper in 1926. their daughter Mary was born in 1926. Bob did carpentry work for the Columbia Icefields, Miette hot springs, and Jasper Park Lodge, and the Habbakuk project. Bob and Marie also operated the Maligne Camp for Curly Phillips and in 1941 they operated the Tonquin Valley camp for Fred Brewster. Marie and Bob also started The Doran's Riding Stables. Their first corral was located at Edd Neighbour's and in 1934 they moved to Stan Kitchen's corral (present site of Catholic Church and Museum). In 1950, they purchased a farm in near Hinton. Their daughter Mary married William (Bill) Hadden (b.1926) a C.N.R engineer in 1943 and operated the Jasper Riding Stable from 1964 to 1967. The fonds consist of music books, card trick books, cookbooks, photograph of Jasper School after 1942 addition, Doran home blueprints, and blueprints and material in relation to Mr. Doran's Carpentry and Mrs. Doran's Riding Stables.
