General note
The Edmonton Jewish News commenced publication on March 25, 1991 with Barry Slawsky as the first publisher. In 1992, Mr. Slawsky sold the Edmonton Jewish News to David Moser who hired his wife Deborah Shatz as editor. The Edmonton Jewish News was published monthly in a tabloid style, financed by advertising revenue, and distributed freely among the Jewish community of Edmonton. The Edmonton Jewish News (in 2009) is still extant and covers local, national, and international Jewish news.
