Biographical history
In September 1993 representatives of nine Edmonton Lutheran congregations formed the Edmonton Lutheran School Task Force to work toward the goal of opening a school in 1995. The Society was incorporated in November 1994 and applied for charitable status to support efforts at raising monies to create and house a Lutheran Church School (Faith Lutheran School). Faith Lutheran School originally operated out of Concordia University College's Braemar Campus, was relocated in 1997 to the facility purchased from the Edmonton Christian School Society on 115th Avenue and 36th Street. The school program, in accordance with the public school system, covers grades one to nine.
Custodial history
The records were deposited with the Lutheran Historical Institute by Betty Dorn, past president of the Edmonton Lutheran School Society between 1996 and 1998 while further records were deposited by the ABC District office.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of Annual Reports and some minutes of the Task Force and the Edmonton Lutheran School Society (1993-2000) and one information brochure about the Task Force.
