Biographical history

Ernst Albert Karl Feuereisen, born in 1896, emigrated to Canada from Germany after the First World War and lived near Pelican Portage on the Athabasca River. His primary occupation was trapping furs. Ernst Feuereisen died January 9, 1979.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of materials created or collected by Ernst Feuereisen of Pelican Portage and dating from 1922 to [1977]. The fonds consists of trapping and hunting licenses, part of a 1922 map of Alberta,and photographs of scenes, people and places on the Athabasca River including Upper Wells. Some of the people are: Ernst Feuereisen, Joe Siemoni, Mr.Jones, Frank and George Senz, Gordon and Jim Carruthers, Henry Goegler (1884-1955), Joe Larson, Hans Birkigt, John and George Pederson, Bruno and Elsie Goetsch, Joe Laflamme, Ed Gambler, Rose Gambler, Kurt George (Dick) Naumann (1901-1978) and ? Kosloff. There is a photo of Ernst on the ship Thuringia out of Hamburg.
