History

Louison Fosseneuve was born in Red River, MB in 1844 to Baptiste Fosseneuve and his wife, Julie Morand. In 1865 he left St. Boniface for the Athabasca District in the service of the Hudson's Bay Company. He settled on the south side of Lac La Biche in 1870 and resided there for many years. In 1869 he married Catherine Decoine who later died. In 1872 he married Therese Ladouceur, daughter of Joseph Ladouceur and Julie Auger, with whom he had the following children: Julie Victoire, Jean, David, Emile, Euphrosine, Alfred, Alphonsine, Joseph and Narcisse.
