Biographical history

William Francis "Frank" Ede, 1908-1994, was born in Alton, Staffordshire, England and emigrated to Canada in 1913. He was employed by the J. H. Ashdown Hardware Co. in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, served overseas during the Second World War, and moved to Red Deer, Alberta in 1950 to become a partner in Harper Furniture. He was an amateur photographer and a member of the Waskasoo Camera Club. He frequently did volunteer photographic work for the Red Deer and District Archives

Scope and content

The collection consists of photographs of historic sites and buildings in the Red Deer area; and copies of archival photographs, many of them loaned by families for publication in local history books. The negatives are stored in envelopes, with the subjects listed on the outsides
