Biographical history
Mr. Frank Harris and Mrs. Susan Harris were long time residents of Medicine Hat. They had six children: Gordon, Kenneth, Roy, Lillian and stepchildren Sydney and Evelyn. Frank worked for the City of Medicine Hat for many years and was a member of the Canadian Legion. They lived at 501D Maple Ave. Lillian, born December 3, 1929, passed away at the age of 16 (May 17, 1946). She attended grade 10 at Alexandra High School and was very athletic. She played on the high school basketball team, bowling team and also played on the Canadian Legion fastball team. Frank passed away suddenly on March 7, 1947 at the age of 60. His funeral was at St. Barnabas Church in Medicine Hat, with Reverend L.T.H. Pearson officiating. He was later interred in the soldier's section of Hillside Cemetery.

The fonds consists of: ration books from World War II issued to Gordon and Susan Harris (2) (undated); Soldiers Service Book for John W. Brown (1943); AGT phone bill to Cpl. J.W. Brown for a call from Medicine Hat Internment Camp to Lethbridge (1944); Alexandra High School Yearbook "Old Aquaintance" (1945); scrapbook of material relating to Lillian Harris (1946); receipt from Medicine Hat Ice Company issued to Mrs. F. Harris (1947); Canadian Legion Song Sheet (undated); images of Frank Harris and family, the Veteran's Guard personnel, and Alexandra High School and students.
