Biographical history

George was born in 1884 in Polk County, Minnesota, the third son of Georges Shank and Marie Adele Doyon. In 1906 George and several of his brothers followed their father to Athabasca from Minnesota. In 1915 he married Mabel Edith Johnston of Athabasca ,the daughter of Colin Johnston and Margaret Gullion. They had 4 children: Ella Jean, George Edward, Carl Harold and Patricia Doris. Their final move was to Burns Lake, B.C. where Mabel died in 1958 and George died in 1960.

The fonds consists of copies of birth certificates for Carl and Patricia Shank, and genealogical charts for George's children and their families. There is also 1 photo of George Edward Shank as a boxer.
