Abraham Henry Goldberg, 1885-1975, was born in Russia and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, USA with his family in 1894. In 1907 he came to Edmonton before settling in Calgary, Alberta in 1921. In 1911, in association with J.M. Sternberg, he organized the Northern Grain Company and worked there for over fifty years. He was the president of the Calgary Hebrew School for twenty-five years and a founder and life trustee of the Calgary Jewish community building. He married Marcia Calmenson in 1912 and they had two daughters, Mozah (Zemans) and Muriel (Ginsberg). Marcia, an active member of the Hadassah Organization of Canada, served as president of the Calgary chapter and vice-president of the Dominion Hadassah. She also participated in the National Council of Jewish Women of Canada.
