Administrative history

The Grande Prairie Gazette began publishing in November 1995, billed as a politically independent newspaper and printed once a week by M2 Publications Ltd. The Publisher was R.J. McDonald and the Senior Reporter and Editor, Ross Hunter. Other writers were Randy Palmer, Kenda Grover, Noreen Pitman, Sabrina Whyatt, Katherine Marley (GPRC correspondent), Krystyna McDonald, Sukumar Nayar, Tracy Culligan, Rick Erlendson, Wally Stokes, and others. Reporting covers municipal and provincial government, education, arts and culture, not-for profit sector, law and justice, sports, business, community calendar, reports from MLAs, etc. A significant theme is the internet and technology, and each issue contains a political cartoon, often by KEW, but there are also a few by Ted Wood.
