Biografie
A.H. McQuarrie was an Alberta pioneer involved with the construction of the Edson-Grande Prairie Trail. McQuarrie worked with the Canadian Pacific Railway Bridge Branch until 1904 when he began working as a bridge builder with the Northwest Territorial Government before the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan were formed. In 1907 he travelled to Edmonton and was offered employment with the Department of Public Works for the Province of Alberta. He accepted this position and spent over 28 years working for the Department in the Peace River District.
Geschiedenis beheer
In 1961 A.H. McQuarrie gave his history of the Edson-Grande Prairie Trail to Norman Willmore, the Minister of Lands and Forests. Willmore gave a copy of this history to A. Russell Patrick, the Minister of Industry and Development. A. Russell Patrick gave a copy of this history to the Provincial Secretary, A. Holowach, who in turn deposited this record with the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1966. Another accession of records was then deposited in 1967 by Mrs. R.F. Hanna, A.H. McQuarrie's daughter.
