Biographical history
Harry Goldberg was born in 1934 and grew up in Edmonton. Mr. Goldberg attended Alec Taylor, McCauley School, and Victoria Composite High School in Edmonton where he participated in the Edmonton Schoolboys Band. Upon graduation from high school Mr. Goldberg entered the workforce as an administrative worker at several different companies before going to work as an executive administrator at the University of Alberta. While employed at the University of Alberta, Mr. Goldberg completed a B.A. in Political Science with a major in Sociology. In 1977, Mr. Goldberg left the University of Alberta to become Deputy Chief Electoral Officer of the Province of Alberta. In 1980, he left the Province of Alberta to become Chief Electoral Officer of British Columbia. In 1990, Mr. Goldberg left Elections British Columbia and formed his own elections consulting company, Canadian Elections Consulting. During the years he operated Canadian Elections Consulting, Mr. Goldberg monitored presidential and local elections in Romania, and offered electoral assistance in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia. He also served as President of the Beth Shalom Synagogue. Mr. Goldberg married Fran Rosenbaum of Calgary and the Goldbergs have two sons, Lindsey and Murray.

Scope and content
The fonds consists of materials created or collected by Harry Goldberg from 1971-1999. The fonds consists of these series: 1. Histories (1999) The series consists of family histories written by Harry Goldberg. 2. Personal (1971-1996) The series consists of anniversary pamphlets for McCauley School, the Edmonton Schoolboys Band, copies of family photographs, and other materials. 3. Election publication (1986-1992) The series consists of reports wholly or partly authored by Harry Goldberg on elections in Romania and Georgia, and a book entitled Electoral History of British Columbia, 1871-1986, published by Elections British Columbia, in which Mr. Goldberg acted as the project's coordinator.
