Biographical history

Heinrich Peter Geddert(2 Sep 1905 -- 3 Jan 1992) was born in Zagradovka, South Russia and moved as a child to Orlovo, Barnaul, Siberia where he met his wife, Maria (nee Nickel, 7 Feb 1907, Mazayevka near Ignatievko Colony-23 Feb 1984). They immigrated to Canada in 1926, first settling in Herbert, Saskatchewan, but moving around many Alberta locations (Hudson Bay Junction, Coaldale, Gem, etc.), and dying in Leduc, Alberta. Heinrich was choir director (Dirigent) for the Orlovo Mennonite Church at the time when music was passed around and each individual made their own copy of it for use in the choir.
